KATE Innovations acquires LegalThings from Firm24

Third acquisition within one year

Utrecht, 17 February 2021 – KATE Innovations, software developer for digital real estate processes, acquires LegalThings from Firm24. LegalThings offers real estate company’s solutions for digitizing the entire (rental) contract cycle. Together with shareholder BORON, the family’s investment company J. A. Fentener van Vlissingen, KATE is actively investing in realizing its ambitions within the real estate sector.

Market leader in real estate technology

KATE Innovations is the link between advisors, banks and property owners and organizes everything valuation process from A to Z. The acquisition of LegalThings fits in seamlessly with the strategy and ambitions of KATE. “With LegalThings we are not only expanding our services, but we are also strengthening our position as the market leader in real estate technology. LegalThings software will be integrated into our existing platform. This gives owners direct insight into the rental contracts in a dashboard”, says Erik Schlooz, CEO KATE.

Growth and continuity

Real estate companies such as Merin, Stena and M7 Real Estate already use the LegalThings software. Rick Schmitz, co-founder of Firm24, is pleased with the acquisition: “For the acquisition of LegalThings we searched for a party that can develop the technology and guarantee its continuity. That party we found in KATE. We are confident that they will welcome our existing customers with open arms, ensure optimal follow-up and continue to focus on the further development of the platform. Firm24 can therefore confidently focus on expanding to other areas of law in the legaltech space”.
