KATE Innovations is a proptech scale-up based in Utrecht. We are an ambitious and growing company that specializes in software development for the real estate market. What began as the development of a process tool for appraisers in the Netherlands has since evolved into an advanced platform for clients both within and outside the Netherlands. KATE Innovations was founded in 2016 out of frustration with the inefficient commercial real estate valuation process; consequently, KATE developed software that streamlines the entire valuation process from start to finish. Today, KATE offers IT solutions that improve collaboration between advisors, banks, and property owners within the real estate sector’s ecosystem.
We are looking for
We are looking for an experienced PHP Backend Developer to join our engineering team. Are you someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, looks beyond the task at hand, and takes pride in the impact of your work? If so, we’d love to meet you.
What we’re looking for
- You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with backend development and possess strong knowledge of PHP 8+, MySQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
- You’re comfortable working with RESTful APIs and have practical experience building and working within microservices architecture. You understand the trade-offs associated with different architectural choices.
- We’re looking for someone who is analytical and pragmatic. You assess problems clearly and choose solutions that truly fit the situation.
- You take full responsibility for your work: from writing the code to deploying it into production.
- Even when things get tough—tight deadlines, changing requirements, or production incidents—you stay calm, adapt quickly, and keep moving forward.
- You understand that good software is built iteratively. You don’t shy away from challenges, can handle complexity without losing sight of the bigger picture, and know how to strike a balance between improvement on the one hand and priorities and deadlines on the other.
Plus points
Experience with microservices, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or CI/CD pipelines is a plus, but not a requirement.
What do we offer you?
- A salary between €3,000 and €3,500 (based on a 40-hour workweek), depending on your experience and skills;
