'The best appraisers in the Netherlands choose KATE'

A clear statement from Erik Schlooz and Rutger Janssen, CEO and Director Business Development of KATE Innovations. Schlooz and Janssen: “Last year we welcomed many new clients. That makes us the market leader for ambitious appraisers: specialists who are looking for efficiency in the appraisal process, but also want the space to process expert advice in the report. With these professionals, we are looking to the future.” What does that future hold? Schlooz and Janssen tell us in this article.

KATE works hard to support craftsmanship in the valuation world. The modern valuer looks beyond the valuation process. Janssen: “It is also about finding and analyzing the best reference object, the impact of sustainability and retrieving data sources to then process them in the advice. But process steps such as quoting and invoicing are also important.”

“With our KATE software, we always look at how we can make the entire business operation as efficient as possible. With challenges in the field of sustainability and meeting the future ESG conditions, real estate owners have a lot on their plate. A standard valuation is no longer sufficient. Real knowledge and expertise in valuation are needed to be future-proof,” emphasizes Schlooz. “Our KATE software gives valuers the space to organize the process as efficiently as possible. This gives the valuer more time to advise real estate owners in the best possible way about challenges. In short: his craftsmanship.”

For every valuer

Property owners should ask for a KATE appraiser. KATE not only offers standards for an efficient process, but also offers a wide range of possibilities for various specialist object types. “Within KATE there is room for all types of appraisals and object types. From exploitation-related, BOG and agricultural, to petrol stations, healthcare and leisure. But of course there is also room for an efficient, standardised process or for specialisations in more complex appraisals where additional substantiation is required”, says Janssen.

If you choose KATE, you choose efficiency and flexibility; everything in one complete package. KATE helps the appraiser to provide the best possible substantiated value. Schlooz explains: “Is the appraisal slightly different from the standard? For example, is it an exploitation-related appraisal, such as a hotel or a restaurant? Then the appraiser does not have to make unnecessary adjustments to arrive at a sound result. You meet all market standards, but also have room for additions to provide the customer with the best advice. KATE is there for every appraiser and every specialism.”

KATE empowers the appraiser

“We do this by not only thinking about valuations,” Schlooz explains. “We look at the entire service provision of a valuer. In doing so, we naturally listen to the wishes of our clients.”

Based on customer requirements, appraisers can easily create a link in KATE with their CRM system or a link with various sustainability parties for the rollout of the sustainability paragraph. “We recently also created a link with Taxapay, also known as the ‘tikkie’ of the appraisal market,” Janssen adds. “With this, KATE automatically sends an invoice to the customer and payment terms are reduced to just 24 hours. This way, the appraiser is provided with direct payment after delivery of the appraisal report.”

With all these additional possibilities, KATE offers solutions that are becoming increasingly important for appraisers: from one-man businesses to large organizations. Schlooz emphasizes: “We are continuously working on offering more new sources, but also give the appraiser the space to choose which sources he or she wants to use. Every piece of the puzzle gives the appraiser extra time to work on real craftsmanship. That is why KATE appraisers are the best appraisers in the Netherlands.”

Brand new platform from the appraiser, for the appraiser

By the end of 2024, KATE will launch a completely new platform. “There is always more profit to be made for the ambitious appraiser. In everything we do, we go for gold,” says Schlooz proudly. “And that is why we are putting 8 years of experience in a new guise.”

A new platform comes with many new functionalities. Schlooz and Janssen are already giving us a sneak preview: “We are introducing a brand new reference module. Are you familiar with the handy functionality of e-commerce websites? Where you can click on four similar products and compare them immediately? That is what our new reference module will look like. This allows the appraiser to easily compare different references to arrive at a sound basis.”

But there is more: “The new KATE will have a fresh layout, offer various choices for automation and provide the possibility to collaborate within an assignment. In addition, there will be a chat function for assignments, even more possibilities for portfolio valuations, space for various scenarios within one valuation and valuers will be provided with a completely new, certified calculation module.”

At the moment, KATE is busy looking at the entire setup of the new platform with various customer groups. Customers help to make the right choices. “Everything to provide appraisers with the necessary tools for efficient business operations,” concludes Schlooz.

Building the future

Schlooz and Janssen conclude: “We are very much looking forward to continuing to build the future of valuation with all our clients. Together we are going for craftsmanship with a capital V, and a valuation future with a golden edge!”
