NVM launches new digital valuation platform
NVM’s Agricultural & Rural Trade Group has developed a new, innovative digital platform for the valuation of agricultural and rural real estate. This platform enables NVM appraisers to deliver standardized, digital appraisals to banks and other stakeholders.
The new valuation platform was developed in collaboration with members (appraisers) of the NVM Trade Group Agricultural & Rural and valuation software provider KATE Innovations. The platform allows appraisers of agricultural and rural properties to easily prepare valuation reports in a digital environment. It takes into account the standard information applicable to the various subsectors in agricultural and rural real estate: from arable farms, dairy farms and pig farms to homes with agricultural zoning.
Standardized
Linked to NVM’s data platform brainbay, the valuation platform automatically reads reference objects from recent transactions. Users can also access workflow modules, conflict of interest checks, the ability to generate standardized assignment letters and add their own validated calculation models, depending on client demand.
The platform generates valuation reports in pdf and features an XBRL link, a digital way to exchange data. With this, NVM Agrarisch & Landelijk wants to make it easier for its members to meet the growing need of banks and other stakeholders for standardized, digital valuations. All output from the platform is compliant with the requirements of the NRVT and the international valuation standard EVS.
Leading the way
“The idea for this new valuation platform originated in late 2019,” says Ard Klijsen, President of NVM’s Agricultural & Rural Trade Group. “It was clear that there was a need to meet the increasing demand for standardized, consistent reporting. But the market for agricultural and rural real estate is diverse, which makes the appraisal process complex and difficult to standardize. This new platform does not only that, it goes much further. It is important that we meet the desire to work with a standard. In doing so, we show that we are anticipating changes in the market and developing innovative new ways of working.”
“This platform allows NVM appraisers to deliver even higher quality appraisals in the most efficient manner,” said Erik Schlooz, Managing Director of KATE Innovations. “I am convinced that this is a trigger for the entire industry around agricultural and rural valuations. Digitization and quality are coming together and with this we are ready for the future.”
NVM Agrarian & Rural’s new valuation platform is available as of Aug. 1.
