Crop fields
Direct access to up-to-date crop and plot information
Our integration with the Basic Registration of Crop Parcels (BRP) provides you with detailed information about agricultural parcels in the Netherlands, including the type of crop grown there. This dataset, based on the Agricultural Area of the Netherlands (AAN), offers valuable insights for spatial analyses, agricultural valuations, land use, and nature management.
Examples of data points we collect:
- Location and geometry of agricultural parcels (as drawn by the user)
- Crop grown per plot (based on annual declaration)
- Reference date data (including datasets per year with May 15 as the reference date)
- AAN land boundaries (based on national registration)
- Most recent crop data going back three years
The data comes from the BRP of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). Farmers register their plots annually and link crop information to them. This makes the BRP an up-to-date source for agriculture-related insights.
Applications
The BRP Crop Fields dataset is suitable for various spatial and agricultural applications, such as:
- Monitoring land use and cultivation patterns
- Substantiation of agricultural valuations and lease analyses
- Policy-making on nitrogen, biodiversity, and nature conservation
- Application in spatial models and environmental impact assessments
The link ensures that you always have the most recent crop plot information for your plot or plots.
